Minneapolis residents charged in Lake Elmo prostitution bust
Washington County prosecutors have charged two Minneapolis residents, a woman and a man, with prostitution-related charges following a bust at a hotel in Lake Elmo.
Brandy Rowe, 31, and Chaudrick Lee, 25, were arrested outside the Holiday Inn & Suites on Hudson Boulevard Oct. 10 after a woman, who identified herself as “Tiffany,” agreed to provide sexual services to an undercover Washington County detective who had responded to an ad posted on Backpage.com.
Hotel staff had expressed concerns to the Washington County sheriff’s office that prostitutes might be visiting the establishment, the criminal complaint states.
Rowe allegedly admitted that she had set up the advertisement for “Tiffany” and schedules and makes money from her appointments. Lee reportedly told investigators he drove women to appointments and provided security if needed. Rowe told investigators Lee made money from the appointments as well, but was unsure how much.
Rowe and Lee face one count of receiving profit from prostitution and one count of promoting the prostitution of an individual. Each of the charges carries a 15-year maximum sentence and $30,000 fine.
Authorities said Rowe has prior convictions in Hennepin County, including disorderly conduct and prostitution in a public place.
