Letter: Impressed with school district
To the editor:
I’m the parent of two children who attend school in the Mounds View Public School district. From our family’s personal experience, I know that my kids spend their days at school learning and growing and I know they are receiving a quality education. At a recent PTA meeting, I heard a presentation from our school board members about the state of the district and I was really impressed with what I heard.
Financially, our district is run very efficiently. Compared to 11 metro area school districts, Mounds View is second from the bottom in the amount of money spent on administrative costs.
This means more money goes into classrooms for student instruction and support. Mounds View is ranked first when comparing investment per pupil. That investment pays off, too, with stellar results. Mounds View is in the Top 10 school districts in the state with 14 National Merit semifinalists this year. District residents have good reason to be proud of our schools.
I’m going to show my pride in Mounds View Public Schools by Voting Yes on Nov. 5 to renew the expiring operating levy. I encourage my neighbors to join me.
