Arrest
A man was stopped by police outside a liquor store in the 1500 block of Larpenteur Avenue Sept. 19 on suspicion of theft. When an officer attempted to check the suspect’s backpack, he shoved the officer. That’s not smart. Two bottles found in the backpack matched the two bottles missing from the store inventory. The 53-year-old was cited for obstructing police and the $21 theft.

Criminal damage to property
In a lapse of sound criminal logic, a bonehead climbed on top of a vehicle Sept. 18 in the 2200 block of Folwell Avenue and began jumping up and down, caving in the top. The dollar value of the damage has not been determined.

Theft
A woman was walking down Arona Street near Idaho Avenue Sept. 19 when a man grabbed the cell phone out of her hand. The phone was worth $100, the 25-year-old told police.

Runaway
A 14-year-old passenger in a vehicle stopped Sept. 20 at Hwy. 280 and Broadway Street N.E. was booked at the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center after he was found to be a runaway from Sheboygan, Wis., the bratwurst capital of the world.
