Three of the four lower-seeded teams won their Sub-State 7 American Legion baseball playoff openers on Tuesday. Unfortunately for the Rosetown Rockets, they weren’t one of them.

Rosetown, the seventh seed, couldn’t keep up with second-seeded Hamline Purple and lost 14-1 in seven innings. It was the third time this season that Hamline Purple beat the Rockets.

In the other three games on Tuesday, top-seeded West St. Paul, third-seeded Oakdale and fourth-seeded North St. Paul all lost to lower-seeded opponents.

With the loss, Rosetown drops into the loser’s bracket and faces Oakdale in an elimination game Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Midway Stadium.
