Two teams from Parkview Center School placed third and fourth in the Middle Division of Global Issues Problem Solving at the Future Problem Solving Program International Conference held at Indiana University in Bloomington June 6-9. Above, in back, are George Burkhardt, Eamon Kuhne, Ben George, Heather Knutson and coach Nan Taylor, whose team took third; in front are Eileen Schrot, Grace Smith, Emily Lentz-Hoops, Bianca Wang-Polendo, whose team took fourth. Each year teams research and apply a 6-step problem solving process to a topic of international importance. This year students developed a plan of action that focused on opportunities for women world-wide while considering various governmental policies and the vast cultural and religious differences in attitudes towards women.
