Tournament success

A recreation-league basketball team made up of Roseville Area High School students recently captured third place at the state tournament by winning five of six games in a 24-hour period. They beat teams from Champlin Park, Wayzata, Eagan and two from Minnetonka while their only loss came to a team from Eden Prairie that went on to the win the state championship.

The Minnesota Rec State Championship tournament, held at the Colin Powell Center in Minneapolis on March 16-17 and sponsored by the Minnesota Youth Athletic Association, was for high school seniors and juniors on intramural, in-house or rec teams.
