Area athletes compete in state ski meets

The high school competitive skiing season came to a close last week with the Alpine and Nordic state meets on back-to-back days at Giants Ridge in Biwabik. Two Review-area schools sent competitors to those meets.

Pioneers, Bears meet in section final

Hill-Murray and White Bear Lake have long been rivals in boys hockey and have met in the section playoffs numerous times over the years. Many of those post-season meetings have come with the section championship on the line.

The goal of every boys high school hockey player in Minnesota is to play in the state tournament at the Xcel Energy Center. The road to that goal starts this week as section playoffs begin.

 Spring weight restrictions went into effect on Washington County roads at 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 17. Restrictions will be in effect for eight weeks, unless extraordinary conditions require extending them.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners took more steps Feb. 14 to complete planning for the Gateway Gold Line bus rapid transit corridor between downtown St. Paul’s Union Depot and Woodbury generally parallel to Interstate 94 route.
