Mendota Heights Crown Point project raises assessment questions

As the cold weather creeps in and the heavy machinery falls silent for the winter, Mendota Heights is readying another round of bills for this summer’s street repairs.
In its Nov. 15 regular meeting, the Mendota Heights City Council approved the final assessment roll for street rehabilitation on Crown Point Drive, Crown Circle, and Crown Court as well as Overlook Road, Overlook Lane, Lilac Road and Summit Lane.

It’s not everyday that you can walk down lower Payne Avenue, turn off half a block, and run into thirty CEO’s wearing blue jeans and holding circular saws.
But that was the scene on Monday on the 600 block of Whitall Street where the leaders of companies like Cargill, Andersen Windows, Allianz Life Insurance Company, and Bremer Bank spent the day fitting siding onto a Habitat for Humanity town home.
