Meet the candidates

A Republican candidate meet and greet will be held June 7 at 7 p.m. at Ol' Mexico, 1754 Lexington Avenue, in Roseville. Candidates from Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Gem Lake, Little Canada, Mounds View, Roseville, Shoreview, St. Paul and Vadnais Heights will be attending.

An identity beyond pastor

After 31 years at Bethany Baptist Church in Roseville, Pastor Bruce Petersen of Shoreview will retire on July 8 from the ministry. A weekend to celebrate his career and say farewell will be held at Bethany Baptist June 23 and 24.

Raiders finish fourth in section softball playoffs

The Roseville Area High School fastpitch softball team saw its season come to an end last week but not before making some noise in the section playoffs. The Raiders went 2-2 in the post-season and finished fourth in Section 4AAA.

RAHS baseball a win from state

Although his team's longest winning streak during the regular season was only three games, Roseville Area High School baseball co-head coach Ryan Flanagan isn't all that surprised by the four-game streak the Raiders are on in the Section 4AAA playoffs.

Roseville well-represented at state track and field meet

There will be plenty of Roseville Area High School athletes running, jumping and throwing at Hamline University in St. Paul later this week. The Raiders' track and field teams combined for 11 entries into the Class AA state meet, which takes place Friday and Saturday.
