Three Maplewood Police Officers were among the thirty-six law enforcement and public safety officials honored for their efforts to prevent drunken driving. The 2005 Ramsey-Washington MADD Law Enforcement Recognition Banquet was held Oct. 23 at Lutheran Church of Peace in Maplewood.

Lawson Street resident Carolyn Diebel kept seeing the notices in her neighborhood paper. And they intrigued her.

So she finally called the St. Paul Hiking Club a little over a year ago, and she's been hooked on the group's hikes ever since.
