Two seasons ago the Irondale boys basketball team won only four games in what head coach Jon DeMars described as a "lost season." The Knights were able to more than double that win total last year despite an inconsistent month and a half to start the season.
More than 90 percent of the points scored last year by the Mounds View boys basketball team came from seniors. Six of the Mustangs’ top seven scorers from last season’s team that finished third in the state tournament graduated.
The 8th Grade Mounds View Mustang Football team nearly went undefeated this season, playing 20 games and losing only one. The team played in the Blaine Sports Center USA Classic, Apple Valley Traveling League, and the Mounds View Football League.

Residents in New Brighton will soon see activity in the Northwest Quadrant. The City Council awarded a contract to Wickenhauser Excavating, Inc., for the demolition of eight properties in 2006 at its meeting Tuesday, Nov. 22.
The storm debris from the Sept. 21 storm that has been piling up at the former Dahlke Trailer site will be taken from the property by Environmental Wood Supply by Feb. 28 for no cost. The City Council approved the quote for the grinding and removal of storm debris at its meeting Tuesday, Nov.
