Hymn festival set for Nov. 6

The Cathedral of St. Paul, corner of Summit and Selby avenues, will sponsor a hymn festival on Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. The diocesan choir and cathedral choir will perform with the cathedral brass.

The North Oaks home tour and boutique are set for Nov. 18 and 19

Tour two homes decked out for the holidays, and get a head start on holiday shopping at a boutique featuring more than 30 vendors. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 18, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 19. Parking and bus service are at the North Oaks Golf Club, 54 East Oaks Road. Tickets cost $20.

Drama students from Concordia Academy in Roseville are exploring the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, as seen through the eyes of a Midwestern playwright, and also from the perspsective of local senior citiznes who have their own stories to tell.

Learn to work with puppets

Homeward Bound Theatre Company will offer “Puppet Pals” on Thursdays, Oct. 27 to Nov. 17 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Richardson Elementary School. Kindergarten through third graders will make their own unique hand-held puppet.
