A lifetime of caring: Maple Hill Senior Living opens its doors

A fireplace welcomes residents and visitors alike to chat by its warmth.

A library filled with books is one of the many rooms accessible to residents.

Residents are encouraged to stay active through exercise programs and a fitness room.

Moving into an extensively renovated former hotel, Maple Hill Senior Living began welcoming residents to their new home in December 2015.

With large windows to provide natural light, a cozy fireplace in the lounge and walls decorated with paintings and photographs, Maple Hill is a friendly place from the moment you walk in the front door.

The new facility is conveniently located near the Maplewood Mall retail center and several medical clinics, offering both assisted living and memory care services.

Staff are on-site around the clock and dedicated to providing a lifetime of caring through extra amenities and activities for residents, as well as assisting them with the personal tasks of daily living.

Many residents' apartment fees are funded through private pay. But unlike many other senior housing facilities in the metro area, Maple Hill also accepts federally funded Elderly Waivers.

"We believe in quality care for everyone, not just those who can pay for it," emphasizes Christina Marshall, marketing director for Maple Hill.

She adds that the staff are willing to work with people who are interested in moving to Maple Hill in order to meet their financial requirements.

Different packages and apartment floor plans are available, along with varying levels of services to meet the needs of a diverse group of seniors. Each apartment comes with a handicap accessible bathroom, refrigerator, pantry, individually controlled heat and air conditioning, complimentary laundry facilities, Direct TV and internet service.

A professional chef is on staff to provide healthy, delicious meals served in the spacious dining room to all those who live at Maple Hill.

Housekeeping, security systems and a safety-pendant system all allow for an efficient and supportive living environment, which provides peace of mind for residents and their families.

In addition to housing services, residents have access to a number of social opportunities to help them thrive in their new surroundings.

Maple Hill Senior Living staff are well aware that they are serving a varied community and do all they can to cater to their residents.

An activity director tailors programs and outings based on what residents are interested in. Staff members also strive to foster friendships among residents, in both the assisted living and memory care units.

Another priority is to have the Maple Hill Senior Living facility be involved with the greater community. Local businesses are encouraged to host events in the meeting rooms of the building and to get to know the residents.

Maple Hill management is dedicated to integrating with the community, knowing that seniors and businesses alike can benefit from working together.

From partnering with the community to individualizing services to meet the needs of each resident, Maple Hill is a company dedicated to putting people first.

"We want to put emphasis on the life of our residents, and what they can do with their life," Marshall explains, noting the importance of having the right people around to help seniors achieve the highest quality of life possible.

"We want them to not just be cared for, but fulfilled," she adds, adding that Maple Hill Senior Living facility is dedicated to providing a caring and welcoming culture for all the people for which it provides housing.
